Liz and Hen, take a bow! One of the most amazing weeks I can remember. In one of the most beautiful places on the planet, these two cooked up one of those weddings you’ll just never forget. Guests flew in from all over the world for this one, and their journeys were not unrewarded. The ceremony on Little Island was described by Liz’s Dad as ‘God’s cathedral’, and it was. With Mount Gower looming large on one side and peeling reef breaks on the other, it truly was a special place. But aside from the beauty of the island, it was the little personal touches that just screamed out that this was Liz and Hen, and they’d do it their way. Liz picked Frangipani petals for the flower girls and the bridesmaids had reeds as their bouquets as a good reminder of where we were. Hen wore a crisp white shirt to separate himself from his friends wearing loud Hawaiian shirts – a nod to the nature of this cheeky groom. Back at the golf club another friend had flown over a keg of his boutique beer for the occasion, while local fire dancers decided to add to the entertainment and did an impromptu show on the golf course midway through the night. Hilarious speeches, an absolutely thumping dance floor with tunes courtesy of DJ Hayden James made it just one of those nights that you never wished would end. It did of course…with inspired, lung-burning singing of Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’. Sensational.
